About the event

What's the food like?

Ethiopian food is very flavorful. We'll be using several exciting spice blends that feature cayenne, chili powder, paprika, cardamom and many others. All dishes are eaten with a fermented flatbread called injera, unique to Ethiopia and neighboring Eritrea.


Our main dish is a lentil stew (miser wat) simmered with rich spices, and lots of tomato and onion. It's accompanied by a peppery kale stir fry and beets cooked with garlic and ginger. This homestyle menu was taught to us by our food partner Bethlehem, who has lived in Bowling Green since 2021.


What's the class experience like?

Our classes are casual, social, and very hands-on. You'll work in a collaborative team of 4 to prepare (and eat) an entire meal.
